Daily Want: THIS. CAR. Isn’t it the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen? I feel like Hello Kitty exploded all over a monster truck rally and the result is some bold new hybrid species not quite of this world, outrageously pink but undeniably tough. Am I allowed to have a blinged-out Chevy pick-up be my spirit animal?!
As a sidenote, one thing I will really miss when if when I someday leave the Middle East is the use of cars as extreme expressions of personal identity. Arabs truly dare to flair (Trademark MAF) with their vehicles… honestly, they even put Americans - with our bumper stickers and our Jesus / Darwin fish and our college football flags and our reindeer antlers - to shame, and that’s quite a remarkable achievement.
So, to the wealthy teenage Emirati girl who I am sure drives this masterpiece, I say: get down with your bad self, sheikha. Gubbi approves.
