Fratty or Fabulous?
Oftentimes I cannot be trusted with my own home decor tastes, as they tend to trend in one of two unfortunate directions - either “OOH, SHINY THINGS!” or “yeah dude, frat-tastic!”
(“Shiny things” = our couches are covered with bedazzled pillows; “frat-tastic” = I unabashedly have an American flag hanging on our wall in Dubai.)
Anyhow, Alex and I have made a habit of saving beer bottle caps and wine corks from our shared libations ever since we started dating a couple years ago - never with a real reason in mind, but just because they bring back fond memories of far-flung travels and wild nights.
But then I embarked upon The Month of Gubbi and started getting all crafty up on everything, and before I knew it I had decided to combine my love of shiny things with my love of fratty things and turn our crappy old coffee table into a boozy work of art, nailing a plywood bottom onto the wooden frame and stacking our mementos mosaic-style underneath the glass top.
Sooooooooo, what do you think - fratty or fabulous?

Does it help my cause if I tell you there are 38 beers from 21 countries represented here? (I got bored when I started counting wine corks… use your imagination.)

I mean, that would be a pretty classy, well-traveled frat house, right? … guys?
