The Dog of All Dogs

[Ed. Note: In putting together this post, I am forced to realize that people outside my immediate family might not find a half-dozen pictures of our dog as fascinating as I do. I sort of feel like one of those parents who post 200-photo albums of their lumpy newborns on Facebook, only to be met by a resounding chorus of crickets… but hey, it’s my blog.]

I suspect that almost everyone who has a dog thinks their dog is the best dog in the world - it’s just part of loving your pet, right?

So I won’t say that my family’s dog Sam is the best dog in the world. But I will say - inspired by Alex and his best friend, who refer to each other as “the dude of all dudes” - that Sam is the dog of all dogs.

When we were at the beach with my family ~~last month~~ in August (where has the time gone?!) I had a chance to capture the DOAD - a dacshsund / yorkie mutt who weighs 10 lbs. soaking wet - doing what he loves best: playing vicious, single-minded, eye-of-the-tiger fetch.

Not bad air time off of 3-inch legs, eh?
