I’m going back to the US again next week for work, and in keeping with my tradition of ironic / inappropriate online shopping in the lead-up to a trip home, I came across these t-shirts from (where else?) Victoria’s Secret PINK:

Obviously, this is what Valentine’s Day looks like in Dubai: poolside dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant (que romantico!), which was unexpectedly dolled-up for the holiday.
Frankly, I don’t think there’s any holiday in the year that’s not improved by bedazzled palm trees and floating pool ornaments… but maybe that’s just because I’ve lived here...

Scene - driving to lunch in Dubai yesterday afternoon.
Me: Blah blah blah, something inane, blah blah.
Alex: [Falls silent and stares off into the distance mid-conversation.]
